PRESCRIPTION ENTRY "TeleRx" |
| |
|
This product is our first release
that benefits rural or foreign venues where data communications is not readily available.
DpRx systems presently serve communities in Chile and Argentina.
"TeleRx" presents a
full entry screen for the pharmacy with certain security features to prevent bogus entries
from the Internet. The attendant enters the ordinary data for an Rx and is assisted with
look-ahead features that minimize repetitive entries to reduce time and the expected error
rate that is a function of the number of entries.
The system is programmed to
optionally allow local retention of adjudicated Rx for the daily or weekly summary of
transactions to enable two sources of reconciliation of dispensed drugs.
A planned successor product is
planned to process VISA cards for collateral charging of co-pays or for other sales. This
product is scheduled for 3rd quarter 2001.

| INTERNET PHYSICIAN PRESCRIPTION GUIDE
"TeleDoctor" |
| |
| This is the centerpiece DpRx
Internet product. This product finally provides a comprehensive and easy-to-use interface
for the Physician accessible through the Internet. It features an interactive mode of
inquiry and response that allows the Physician to review the patients history and
determine whether to repeat a previous Rx or to pursue a formulary compliant therapy.
In the first case, he simply
clicks the Rx that is to be repeated and make adjustments if necessary for the dosage, SIG
or duration. In the second case, the Physician identifies the drug class indicated and is
provided with a list, in the order of preference, to select from. At that point, the drug
is adjudicated and is confirmed if it is compliant.
The final Rx is optionally
printed and forwarded to a designated pharmacy by FAX or E-mail. This module of the
product will be available in early 2001.

| PATIENT Rx HISTORY INQUIRY "TeleLog" |
| |
| "TeleLog" is one of our
first releases and is embedded in the other Internet products described here. It can be
invoked separately for a number of procedures that require a review of patient drug
history. The ordinary presentation on Internet screens scrolls data from the most recent
Rx issuance's to earlier dispensing. Each Rx is displayed line by line.
There are other special sequences
and selective listings of patient history of drugs dispensed. These are built in features
that are available by clicking dialogue boxes of list descriptions. This product
ordinarily is restricted to the previous three months of activity. Other products are
available for archived records that enable several years of patient history.

| |
| FORMULARY COMPLIANCE INQUIRY & GUIDE
"TeleComply" |
| |
| The "TeleComply"
product is also an embedded feature of other products but in this case can be invoked for
the one function that is common to Physician activity. The common application of this
function is to have the Physician enter the drug of choice and have it processed against
the Plan Parameters to determine acceptability.
In Step Therapies the entry point
is the anticipated planned therapy classification for the patient. System response
provides the initial formulary compliant drug. If this matches the current drug of last
issuance, then the next step drug is indicated for selection. The process follows the
precedence indicated in the Formulary.

| ELIGIBILITY CONFIRMATION "TeleConfirm" |
| |
|
"TeleConfirm" is a tool
provided for the convenience of Pharmacists and Patients. There are occasions when
patients forget or lose their ID cards. This situation may also occur at times when a Help
Desk call is inappropriate or difficult.
The Pharmacist simply direct
dials an 800 number provided and touches tone keys to define the person seeking
confirmation of eligibility. The system responds with a library generated voice answer
that confirms the eligibility and repeats in voice output the input parameters to complete
the validation.
Ordinarily an abbreviated name
and birth date is sufficient to confirm eligibility. If the individual happens to remember
their member number, usually their social security number, this would also be acceptable
for confirmation.
|
| |
| DEDUCTIBLE & MAXIMUM LIMITS CONFIRMATION
"TeleLimits" |
| |
|
"TeleLimits" is very similar to the preceding product in that the
Pharmacist direct dials an 800 number and enters the Members ID Number. The voice
response provides a repetition of the persons important descriptive data and follows
this with a voice representation of the remaining deductible amount or the remaining
dollar amount left before exceeding the Maximum allowable (which may be for the year of
lifetime). |
| |
| REFILL REMINDER SYSTEM "TeleRemind" |
| |
|
"TeleRemind" has a very
practical, simple but important purpose. Many patients, particularly Seniors, may forget
to reorder or replace exhausted prescriptions. The system checks all Rxs that are at the
brink of completion, based on the quantity dispensed and automatically dials them.
A word library of prepared script
giving Rx number and dates is vocalized for the listener. A response to the call is
requested but not mandatory. The listener may answer that they do not wish to be called
again.
This simple, but vital reminder
may make a substantial contribution to therapy compliance and thereby save far more than
the telephone expense incurred.
