The DUR Server

The DUR (Drug Utilization Review) Server is a machine which is responsible for handling DUR transactions sent by the Adjudicator machine and the DOS clients under Simplan. It contains the MEDISPAN’s SOLUTION COM Object and an interface program that service incoming transactions and outgoing response from the Adjudicator or Clients using Simplan application.

Drug Utilization Review (DUR) is a process which evaluates a particular drugs for use by a specific member. This process is conducted using specific DUR edits designed by the health plan. Examples of DUR edits include: therapeutic duplication, pregnancy and age precautions, dos range, drug interactions precaution and gender compliance.

Joining a Windows NT Server or Novell Netware Server

The DUR Server is running on Windows NT Workstation operating system. Joining a Windows NT Server Domain or a Novel Netware Server is the same as that on the Adjudicator.

Drive Mappings, Folders and Application on the FEP

Drive mappings on the DUR Server involves only one network drive located on the File Server. See Figure 19.

Figure 19. (DUR Server Drive Mappings)

The drive mapping is still the result of the execution of the login script located on the File Server.
Folders and files are shown on Figure 20 and 21 respectively.
